The Importance of Backlogs in Agile
Agile teams need clearly defined backlogs with easily actionable requirements.
Without an organized backlog, teams can’t deliver regular increments of working, tested product. If we aren’t delivering regularly, we might not be responding to our customers and markets quickly enough.
Backlogs are also necessary to measure the scope of the teams, and how much work they can complete during a given sprint. The ability to know the scope of the teams allows you to create stable velocity delivering work at the end of a sprint.
Building a stable velocity is essential to becoming more predictable and adaptable in the marketplace.
